During our first visit to Germany to see our daughter, we were excited to dine at Foster’s Garden. Our son-in-law had spoken highly of the restaurant, and we were genuinely looking forward to a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations, not because of the food, but because of the unsettling atmosphere created by poor management. The food was acceptable, and the pricing was fair, but the evening was overshadowed by the behavior of the woman who appeared to be in charge. She made it a point to repeatedly state that she is not a waitress but a professor. Despite this, she took it upon herself to micromanage the waitstaff in a condescending manner, while also distancing herself from any actual service responsibilities. This contradiction created chaos with our orders and an overall feeling of disorganization. What truly left a sour taste, however, was witnessing how young staff members were treated during a busy holiday shift. The tone was harsh, the instructions were barked rather than communicated, and the entire team seemed visibly stressed and overwhelmed.
